What’s been the biggest challenge so far?
We have a powerful product that’s been around for a little while, and the industry recognizes the need for digital therapeutics. The biggest challenge is that the sector is growing so rapidly – so there are no standards and everyone knows it. This moment is truly the “wild west” of psychedelic medicine.
What excites you most?
Psychedelic medicine is, in my mind, the most critical tool for affecting global healing right now. It’s very exciting and meaningful to offer a unique and powerful tool to the therapists working on the front lines of this important growing sector!
What is your biggest lesson learned when raising capital?
Investors are some of the smartest people around – they’ve seen businesses succeed and fail countless times. Some of the best free advice I’ve ever gotten has come from investors – often not in what they’re saying \*directly,\* but in the patterns of what they’re looking for. My relationships with our investor network have made me a better business leader and made our business much stronger.
Did you notice any type of investor differences while raising money?
There are investors who “get it,” they already understand psychedelic medicine… and there are investors who don’t. It’s much easier to talk with those already in the know, than to educate the folks who haven’t crossed the knowledge threshold yet.
Describe your business model in 10 words or less
Distributing psychoactive digital experiences to psychedelic therapists and their trainers.
What tips would you give founders entering fundraising?
Track all of your relationships. This is a marathon, and your success will be built upon the investor relationships that you’ve been maintaining for years.
