How did I end up in the psychedelic medicine industry?

I’d had some experience with psychedelics, but it was the typical recreational stuff you do when you’re younger. Shrooms at the cottage, type of thing. Then, a few years ago, my mental health took a turn for the worse. I was OK, but the ambient anxiety that seemed to always be there had slowly reached a new level. And I was getting concerned. Friends and family recommended going on medication. But I didn’t want to just reach for a pill. Shouldn’t I try something else first? Something more natural, less influenced by outdated commercial models of mental health treatment? So I started microdosing psilocybin. Tentatively at first, learning the ropes, checking-in to see its effects. And I noticed a difference. It was subtle, and you had to look for it. But I felt better. Was better able to access the present moment, get out of my head, reverse some of those ugly habits of thought. I still have to work at it. But for the last 3 years, psychedelics have been a part of my mental health routine, with very positive results. I’m grateful to be in a position to share this knowledge and help move this mental health renaissance forward.
